I wasn’t paying much attention ‘til she mentioned
Something I did once and never told another soul about

It was a guy at work, I think
Left him for dead in ‘93? Or maybe it was ‘94?

Regret won’t erase the facts or black out the stain on my memory
I’ve finally come to terms with this reality:
I left a man in a crater to be eaten alive by worms
